Do you know of someone who likes to collect cards? My husband and my son have a small collection, but they aren't that big on this craze. Years ago this hit the market and has been building like a cloud of smoke ever since.
Now you will hear about all the money that these old cards, if you still had them, would be worth. Some of them could make you enough money so that you or your child could live out your lives in comfort. If you wanted to try to find some of these old cards you might still be able to find them, but they will cost you. You will most likely pay a premium when you buy from a collector or card shops because they have to make something to be able to buy more cards for their overhead.
If you want to start collecting these cards today, the best way is to go to a collector's booth and talk to them. They could tell you how to get started and what to look for and also the down sides of these hobbies. Another way that some would say is unconventional would be to look at estates sales or antique stores. Most people wouldn't think of looking in these places.
Older couples keep everything, thinking that these items will one day be worth something. Well most of the time they are right, but they might not get the chance to sell this item because of the fact that they might pass. These items would then be sold off at this estate sale.
In the middle of the 60's or the early 70's these hobbies were taking this country by fire. We found out that all of those cards that you might have had as children were becoming something in worth. Now they have cards for football players, basketball players, and even tennis and golf. If you get your hands on a rookie card of an older player, this card could be worth more than a regular player's card.
They have even brought out game cards that have really started the young kids to collect and play. My son even has Star Wars game cards. He has never played with them because, for one, he doesn't have the time to and another reason he doesn't is because he doesn't know of anyone else that has these cards.
So if you want to have something that you and your son or daughter can do together, you might think about collecting cards.
